Welcome to Madrid! Upon arrival at the airport, we shall be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Our guide will be ready to welcome you and will provide the necessary information. Towards the end of the day, we provide transfers to the Egyptian Debod temple, Plaza de Es­paña and Gran Via; a vibrant district where you can dine at your preferred restaurant: Indian, Chinese, Spanish and Middle Eastern are some of the options.

DAY 02 : Breakfast / – / –
MADRID
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Madrid city tour. Stroll through the Retiro Park.
Visit to the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas bullring. Night transfer The day starts about 08.30 hrs with a comprehensive tour through the centre of Madrid including Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, the Gate of Alcalá, Gran Via, Plaza de Colón and Plaza Mayor. Visit to Retiro Park, an oasis in the city centre, where we will see the lake and the Glass Palace. Admission to Las Ventas Bullring included. This is one of the most famous bullrings in the world where we will learn about the tradition of “corridas” in the Bullfighting Museum. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon. At sunset we provide a transfer to Plaza de Oriente, opposite the Royal Palace, an elegant and bustling area with many restaurants serving different exquisite cuisines (Indian, Middle Eastern, Muslim, Spanish, International) in which to enjoy a pleasant dinner. Return to hotel.

MADRID > ZARAGOZA > POBLET > MONTSERRAT > BARCELONA
TODAY’S HIGLIGHTS: Basílica del Pilar. Visit to a mediaeval monastery. Ride on a rack train.

We depart early in the morning from Madrid. Heading towards Aragón, we pause our journey in ZARAGOZA. Our guide will join the group to Basílica del Pi­lar. Directly afterwards the group will have free time to visit this impressive sanctuary and enjoy the city centre. Later, we make our way to Cataluña to the Monastery of Poblet, surrounded by walls in a beautiful setting, this is one of the best preserved mediaeval monasteries in the world (entrance and guided tour included). We then go on to the Monastery of Montserrat where we include a ride on the rack train for the fantastic views this gives. Continuation to BARCELONA, arrival in the late afternoon.
Important note: in the winter months, from November to March (included), due to the shorter days, the Monastery of Poblet will not be visited (so that we can reach Montserrat in the daylight).

BARCELONA
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS:
Barcelona city tour. “Spanish Village” visit and evening transfer to Las Ramblas district.

Today we will get to know Barcelona, an impressive city right on the Medi­terranean Sea. Our visit includes an informative city tour with a local expert (note: If the group has fewer than fifteen people, explanations can be given by our guide.) We also visit the city’s historic central area with its Gothic neigh­bourhood dating back to the Middle Ages. We will visit the area where the Olympic Games took place. It will be possible to see and photograph La Sagrada Fa­milia basilica; the masterpiece designed by the architect Gaudí Subsequently, we include the entry ticket to “Poble Espanyol” (meaning “Spanish Village”). This open air architectural museum is situated in one of the most emblematic areas of Barcelona. Be delighted by the best Spanish craftsmanship and discover the architectural styles, traditions and folklore of the different communities in Spain. Free time to explore the city on your own. In the evening we provide transfer to Las Ramblas and Plaza Cata­lunya area, where you can select from a great variety of restaurants (including Indian, Chinese, Halal, International and regional Spanish cuisine). Return to hotel.

BARCELONA > PARIS
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: We will travel on a high-speed train.
After breakfast we arrange a transfer (included) to the train station. We travel on a high-speed train. (Note: A guide will only travel on the train ride if the group is over 15 passengers.) The train is quite comfortable and it is an enjoyable trip through wonderful landscapes. On several occasions our train will reach speeds of around 300 km/h (186 m/h). The train journey takes 6½ hours. Arrival in Paris and transfer to the hotel. At the end of the evening, we provide transfer to the Montmartre dis­trict. This neighbourhood is known for its painters, artists, and its cabarets. Sit down to dinner and enjoy a magical night. You can choose between Indian, Chinese, French and American cuisines. We will ascend by cable car to the hill and admire the spectacular view of Paris from the top. Return to hotel.

PARIS
TODAY´S HIGHLIGHTS:
City tour in Paris. Climb to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Boat ride along the Seine. Evening transfer.
A scenic guided tour to discover the history, main boulevards and the breathtaking monuments of Paris. We end the visit at the Eiffel Tower area. You will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable metal monument (ticket admission included). End your visit with a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides the north of Paris from the south. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore as you choose. Note: Sometimes queues to climb the Eiffel Tower are long. For organizational reasons, if deemed appropriate, the climb can be made at a different moment of the day (or Monday). At sunset transfer to the “Quartier Latin”, a very picturesque area of the historic centre were you can enjoy dinner with a wide variety of international cuisines. Return to hotel.

PARIS > ROUEN
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Rouen historic centre.
We go to the centre of Paris, to the area of the Louvre Museum. Free time. If you wish we can accompany you to Benlux, one of the most complete and best-known perfumeries in Paris. At around 17:30 hrswe will leave Paris for ROUEN, city museum with its houses with half-timbered walls, narrow streets and gothic churches. Accommodation in the city.

ROUEN > EPERLECQUES > CANTERBURY > LONDON
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: World War II bunker. Ferry crossing to United King­dom. Evening transfer to Camden district.
We set off to the north of France. In Eperlecques we visit a huge bunker in the middle of the forest (admission in­cluded). From this point, V1 and V2 missiles were fired to the UK. Next, we leave on a ferry across the English Channel to reach CANTERBURY, the religious capital of England with a very attractive historic centre. Continuation to LONDON We provide transfer to Camden, a district famous for having one of the most varied and extravagant street markets in London. Time for dinner in this area with numerous ethnic restaurants (Indian, Thai, Chinese, international, and so on).

LONDON
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Visit London. Changing of the guard. English Teatime. Transfer to Soho.
Get to know LONDON on a locally guided tour featuring style, cul­ture and history. See the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, the Tower of Lon­don and Buckingham Palace, where we shall be able to watch the famous “Changing of the Guard” (depending on the season). If you wish, later on, you can go on an optional excursion to the “London Eye” ferris wheel.In the afternoon, at 5pm, after a period of free time, we invite all our travellers to a traditional Afternoon Tea. In the evening, a stroll through Leicester Square, China Town and Soho, with its atmosphere, its theaters and its entertainment. Sit down for dinner at your preferred restaurant (Indian, Chinese, Thai, in­ternational, and so on) in the lively district.

Today we are visiting this capital city, which is the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our local expert will provide a guided city tour, which will include the most outstanding monuments. During the visit we walk through Prague Castle (admission included). Subsequently, we shall take a magnificent boat tour along Moldava River. Free time in the afternoon to explore Prague. In the evening, we will enjoy some time off in the historical city center and there will be an opportunity for you to enjoy cuisines from around the world (including Czech, Chinese, Indian and Italian). TODAY’S HIGLIGHTS: BMW WELT and Old Town Innsbruck.
We will leave early and travel to Bavaria arriving to MUNICH at midday. Next to the Olympiapark, we will visit the futuristic BMW WELT with its fascinating architecture and multi-use exhibition of BMW, the prestigious German vehicles brand. After that, time for lunch and a stroll in the historic centre. In the afternoon we will travel to Austria. Arrival in the evening to INNSBRUCK where we will have time for dinner in the Golden Roof area at the Old Town.

Visit to Swarovski Museum. Breathtaking landscapes. Journey by train.

Begin your day by discovering the Swarovski Museum, the renowned home of crystals. We shall visit its impressive gardens and learn how the pieces of crystal are produced. Then, time to stroll before taking a train from Innsbruck to Zurich, an enjoyable journey of more than 3 hours through wonderful sceneries. In ZURICH, enjoy an evening in the historic centre next to the lake, where you can dine at your favourite restaurant (Indian, Oriental, Italian, International, Swiss, etc.). Note: in some cases the journey from Innsbruck to Zurich may be done by bus arriving about 20.00 hrs to the hotel in Zurich.

Today´s stage has beautiful landscapes with high mountains and lakes. Breathtaking scenery in the region of Interlaken. GRINDELWALD where we will have time for a coffee before taking the cable car (ticket included) up to Grindelwald first. We will walk along the path (30 minutes) in which we shall be able to take the “footbridge over the empty” among the fantastic scenery enjoying glaciers around us. Lunch included (vegetarian option available). After that we continue to LUCERNE, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. Time at the end of the day to stroll, enjoy the city and dine before returning to the hotel in Zurich.

ZURICH > BURGLEN > LUGANO > MORCOTE > MILAN
TODAY´S HIGHLIGHTS:
We will know the town of William Tell.
We travel to BURGLEN, the tiny village where William Tell was born, we shall see the chapel of the XVI century with paintings illustrating his life. We continue to LUGANO the cosmopolitan capital of the Italian Switzerland with its beautiful lake. Time to stroll and have lunch. Afterwards, following the shores of the lake, we reach the enchanting little town of MORCOTE, with its houses made of stone, and covered with flowers. Arrival in MILAN where our guide will take us to the impressiveDuomo Square. There will be time to dine at the Porta Venecia (Port of Venice) where an outstanding variety of restaurants can be found to delight your palate. TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Centre of Milano. Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Time in MILAN in which we can see its great cathedral and the galleries in the centre. Then we continue towards PISA. On a little tourist train we will travel to the Piazza Dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), where there will be time to admire one of the most alluring and beautiful art complexes in Italy, including the well known Leaning Tower of Pisa. Then, we continue to Rome, arriving at the end of the afternoon.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: City tour of Rome. Roman Coliseum (admission price included) and visit to the Vatican City.
In the morning, we have a scenic tour of the city, which will be a great introduction to “The Eternal city”. We visit the tiny state of the Vatican. The Vatican City is a principal centre of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. And we have also included admission to the Roman Coliseum, the principal symbol of Rome. This impressive con­struction dates back 2,000 years and will transport us in time so that we can learn about ancient society in the Roman Empire. In the evening we provide transport to the Via Cavour area, were you will find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and interna­tional food. Return to hotel.

In the evening we provide a tour with a local expert, and walk through the historic centre, taking in places such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. This city is truly an outdoor museum. Free time to explore. In the evening, you can dine at your favourite restaurant. In this district you can find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food.

Today we enjoy stunning mountain landscapes while crossing the Apennine Mountains. Arriving in VENICE, we will board a Vapporetto to travel around on the canals in the historic centre. With a local guide, we will visit the marvellous Saint Marck´s and enter the marvellous basilica (entry cost included). Afterwards, we shall be able to visit the Murano glass factory city. It is marvellous to see the technique of crystal blowing. Free time. Our guide will instruct us on the places where you will be able to walk in Romeo and Juliet’s city – the city of lovers! Afterwards we continue the journey to Switzerland. Very beautiful lakes and mountains with snow-capped peaks line our route. Arrival in ZURICH. Embark on a scenic trip to BERN, capital city of the confederation built around a bend in the Aare River, with its medieval architecture preserved in the Old Town. Time to take a stroll and breathe in the fresh air. Next, we journey to France. Enjoy beautiful lake views on our trip to Paris. We arrive in the evening. Tour ends (or journey continues depending on rotating schedule of departures). Recommendation: If you start or end your trip in Paris, we advise you to book an extra day or two in this city. A scenic guided tour to discover the history, main boulevards and the breathtaking monuments of Paris. We end the visit at the Eiffel Tower area. You will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable metal monument (ticket admission included). End your visit with a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides the north of Paris from the south. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore as you choose. Note: Sometimes queues to climb the Eiffel Tower are long. For organizational reasons, if deemed appropriate, the climb can be made at a different moment of the day (or Monday). We go to the centre of Paris, to the area of the Louvre Museum. Free time. If you wish we can accompany you to Benlux, one of the most complete and best-known perfumeries in Paris. At around 17:30 hrswe will leave Paris for ROUEN, city museum with its houses with half-timbered walls, narrow streets and gothic churches. Accommodation in the city.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: World War II bunker. Ferry crossing to United King­dom. Evening transfer to Camden district.
We set off to the north of France. In Eperlecques we visit a huge bunker in the middle of the forest (admission in­cluded). From this point, V1 and V2 missiles were fired to the UK. Next, we leave on a ferry across the English Channel to reach CANTERBURY, the religious capital of England with a very attractive historic centre. Continuation to LONDON We provide transfer to Camden, a district famous for having one of the most varied and extravagant street markets in London. Time for dinner in this area with numerous ethnic restaurants (Indian, Thai, Chinese, international, and so on).

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Madrid city tour. Stroll through the Retiro Park.
Visit to the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas bullring. Night transfer The day starts about 08.30 hrs with a comprehensive tour through the centre of Madrid including Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, the Gate of Alcalá, Gran Via, Plaza de Colón and Plaza Mayor. Visit to Retiro Park, an oasis in the city centre, where we will see the lake and the Glass Palace. Admission to Las Ventas Bullring included. This is one of the most famous bullrings in the world where we will learn about the tradition of “corridas” in the Bullfighting Museum. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon. At sunset we provide a transfer to Plaza de Oriente, opposite the Royal Palace, an elegant and bustling area with many restaurants serving different exquisite cuisines (Indian, Middle Eastern, Muslim, Spanish, International) in which to enjoy a pleasant dinner. TODAY’S HIGLIGHTS: Basílica del Pilar. Visit to a mediaeval monastery. Ride on a rack train.

We depart early in the morning from Madrid. Heading towards Aragón, we pause our journey in ZARAGOZA. Our guide will join the group to Basílica del Pi­lar. Directly afterwards the group will have free time to visit this impressive sanctuary and enjoy the city centre. Later, we make our way to Cataluña to the Monastery of Poblet, surrounded by walls in a beautiful setting, this is one of the best preserved mediaeval monasteries in the world (entrance and guided tour included). We then go on to the Monastery of Montserrat where we include a ride on the rack train for the fantastic views this gives. Continuation to BARCELONA, arrival in the late afternoon.
Important note: in the winter months, from November to March (included), due to the shorter days, the Monastery of Poblet will not be visited (so that we can reach Montserrat in the daylight).

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS:
Barcelona city tour. “Spanish Village” visit and evening transfer to Las Ramblas district.

Today we will get to know Barcelona, an impressive city right on the Medi­terranean Sea. Our visit includes an informative city tour with a local expert (note: If the group has fewer than fifteen people, explanations can be given by our guide.) We also visit the city’s historic central area with its Gothic neigh­bourhood dating back to the Middle Ages. We will visit the area where the Olympic Games took place. It will be possible to see and photograph La Sagrada Fa­milia basilica; the masterpiece designed by the architect Gaudí Subsequently, we include the entry ticket to “Poble Espanyol” (meaning “Spanish Village”). This open air architectural museum is situated in one of the most emblematic areas of Barcelona. Be delighted by the best Spanish craftsmanship and discover the architectural styles, traditions and folklore of the different communities in Spain. Free time to explore the city on your own. In the evening we provide transfer to Las Ramblas and Plaza Cata­lunya area, where you can select from a great variety of restaurants (including Indian, Chinese, Halal, International and regional Spanish cuisine). BARCELONA > PARIS
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: We will travel on a high-speed train.
After breakfast we arrange a transfer (included) to the train station. We travel on a high-speed train. (Note: A guide will only travel on the train ride if the group is over 15 passengers.) The train is quite comfortable and it is an enjoyable trip through wonderful landscapes. On several occasions our train will reach speeds of around 300 km/h (186 m/h). The train journey takes 6½ hours. Arrival in Paris and transfer to the hotel. At the end of the evening, we provide transfer to the Montmartre dis­trict. This neighbourhood is known for its painters, artists, and its cabarets. Sit down to dinner and enjoy a magical night. You can choose between Indian, Chinese, French and American cuisines. We will ascend by cable car to the hill and admire the spectacular view of Paris from the top. Return to hotel.

After breakfast, we will go to the British Museum, one of the main and oldest museums in the world where we can see relics from cultures all around the globe. Free time.At around 4 PM, we will leave for COLCHESTER, known as the most ancient city of England. Time to stroll. We will then board a modern ferry in Harwich, and take a night voyage in cabins with bathroom.

Important note: The ferry used has a limited number of cabins. Sometimes we might change the stage, leaving London at 3 PM and taking the railway tunnel under the English Channel, and spending the night in Antwerp.

VOLENDAM > AMSTERDAM
TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Picturesque typical village of Volendam.
Visit to Amsterdam. At around eight in the morning we reach Holland (Hoek Van Holland) and we visit VOLENDAM, a very picturesque fishing village. After this, we travel to AMSTERDAM where we include a panoramic visit of the city to see its narrow canals, the Dam Platz, its official buildings and parks. We will also see the technique of cutting diamonds. Transfer to the Red Light District, with its liberal values and its many restaurants from all corners of the world. It is very likely that you will you will have heard about this neighbourhood.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Entrance and local guide in the Alhambra. Evening transfer.
Leaving Madrid by bus in the early morning (if the group of English-speaking travellers is fewer than 10, they will share the trip to Granada with Spanish-speaking passengers). We travel to the south across La Mancha, stopping in PUERTO LÁPICE, a ‘manchego’ village evoking the figure of Don Quixote. We will enter Andalusia via Despeñaperros. GRANADA, arrival. In the afternoon we will visit the immense Alhambra Palace, with entrance and local guide included, and its beautiful Generalife gardens, built in Arab times. Later, enjoy an evening transfer to the Plaza de Gracia in Granada’s city centre, where restaurants mix with local cultural flavour to create an unforgettable night. Choose between Spanish, international, Chinese, Latin cuisines, etc. Tonight you have the option to attend a flamenco dance show and the traditional neighbourhood of Sac¬ramonte.

Note: in the Alhambra complex, the Nazari palaces allow a limited number of people in at a time. In the highly improbable case of not being able to visit this area of the Alhambra, a visit to the Alcázares will be included in Seville (which have similar architecture and features).

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Step aboard a boat to Africa. Stop off in the pictur¬esque town of Asilah, located on the ocean front. Dinner is included.

Note: Depending on the number of passengers in Morocco, this tour may be conducted in bilingual (Spanish/English) groups.

Departure from Granada. We cross the Costa del Sol. In Algeciras or Tarifa we board a modern ferry to cross the Straits of Gibraltar. The coach does not normally make the crossing, so passengers must carry their lug-gage. Arrival in Morocco. Beautiful landscapes. ASILAH – this picturesque small walled city on the shores of the Atlantic was an ancient port that was a base for pirates. Today the settlement is full of life. Time for lunch. Later we continue to Rabat. Arrival in Rabat. Dinner buffet and accommodation.

Scenic tour of Rabat, calling at the immense Royal Palace, the Mohamed V Mausoleum and the mighty Kasbah of the Udayas. At midday, we depart for Casablanca, where we shall have a short informa¬tive tour of the city. The tour includes the outside of the great Hassan II mosque, which is one of the most important in the Arab world. Then we continue towards Marrakech. After arriving at the hotel, you will be able to experience a traditional Kalesa ride up to the famous Jamaa el Fna square. Dinner buffet included. Hotel accommodation.

We journey across the Atlas Mountains, frequently snow-capped high peaks greet us as we say goodbye to Marrakesh. Small Berber villages perch on the side of chasms. We interrupt the journey to stop at the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, a place where several films have beenfilmed. At this point of our trip, our route passes through the so-called biblical landscapes. Time in Ouarzazate city with its impressive Kasbah. We continue toward the valley of Roses. Boulmane Dades. Dinner and accommodation.

NOTE: On very rare occasions (during winter), the roads may be closed due to snowdrifts. If necessary, days 5 to 7 will be rescheduled according to our alternative itinerary. (Whether we can visit the Sahara or not will depend on road access).

A journey full of excitement in the Sahara Desert: the Valley of the Kas¬bahs; river valleys containing thousands of palm trees; plains of stones fol¬lowed by oasis and adobe villages, powerful fortresses defending the thoroughfares. We visit the stunningly magnificent Todgha Gorge. On the way, we shall call at a small town built from adobe next to KHORBAT, visitors will be able to learn about this desert community, which is supported by the Europamundo Foundation. (Note: Sometimes access is not possible due to weather condi-tions, which may involve flooding of the river). We continue toward Erfoud. Lunch included. Anyone who wishes, can go on a field trip to visit the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert (experience dusk among the dunes).

Guided visit with local expert in Seville. High Speed train from Seville to Madrid.
After breakfast, a local expert guides you through a scenic visit of Seville featuring the Cathedral and its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir river, popular neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana and the beautiful Plaza de España (note: if the group has fewer than fifteen travelers, it can be arranged in both Spanish and English). In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the train station. We travel for 2 ½ h on a high-speed train to Madrid. The train is quite comfortable and it is an enjoyable trip through Andalusian and Castilian landscapes. Possibility for the train to reach speeds of around 300 km/h (186 m/h). Arrival to Madrid and transfer to the hotel.
